Sedalia Police Reports For February 7, 2022

Sunday night, Officers were dispatched to a domestic assault no longer in progress in the 300 block of McAnally Court. It was determined that the two both punched each other. A primary aggressor was not determined. A report was completed to document the incident and serve as a 12 hour log.

Friday night, Officers were dispatched to the Best Western Hotel, 3120 South Limit Avenue, to speak with a subject who lost his wallet. Shea Tyler Achibeque wanted to report that he lost his wallet while he was attending an event at the hotel. The report is for general documentation.

Saturday night, Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 900 block of West Broadway Bouelvard. After a brief investigation, the driver of the vehicle was found to operating on a suspended license. Don C. Soriano Palmerin Jr., 22, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Suspended. Palmerin was transported to the Pettis County Jail for processing, where he was booked and released. Officers conducted a vehicle stop in the 2000 block of West Broadway Boulevard on a vehicle with expired temporary tags Sunday night. The driver was Palmerin. Palmerin was arrested again for Driving While Suspended. Palmerin was transported to the Pettis County Jail for processing, where he was booked and released.

Sunday evening, Officers conducted an investigative stop on a suspected suspended driver in the area of East 5th Street and South Brown Avenue. The driver was the suspect, whose license was suspended. Domingo Sis Castro, 26, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Castro was booked and released on a state charge of Driving While Suspended.

Sedalia Police observed a vehicle traveling with no license plate lights Sunday night in the area of East Broadway Boulevard and South Montgomery Avenue. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and the driver was identified. A computer check showed the driver's license status was revoked. Cynthia J. Biggs, 34, of Warrensburg, was placed under arrest for Driving While Suspended and taken to the Pettis County Jail. At the jail, a search of Biggs was done and a small baggie with a crystallized residue was located. The residue was field tested positively for methamphetamine. Biggs was booked on charges of Driving While Suspended, Possession of a Dangerous Drug, and Delivery of a Controlled Substance into a County Jail.

Early Monday morning, a warrant check was conducted in the 2600 block of Bristol Lane. Carmen Talavera Sebastian, 39, of Sedalia, was contacted and arrested on a Pettis County warrant for three counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child in the 2nd Degree. Sebastian was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where she was booked on the warrant with a $10,000 cash or surety bond.

Sedalia Police stopped a truck between East 24th Street and East 25th Street early Sunday morning for Speeding and failing to stop prior to a stop line. After an investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Alex Scott Bishop, 21, of Marshall, was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated. Bishop was taken to the Police Department, processed, and then released to a sober person.

On the morning of February 4th, Officers spoke to a subject who reported damage to his vehicle while it was parked in the 300 block of West 7th Street. Upon contact with the suspect, it was determined he had an active warrant from Pettis County for Failure to Appear on original charges of Property Damage. Joshua W. Haulcy, 28, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Haulcy's bond was set at $60 cash only for the warrant. Haulcy was also issued a citation for Destruction of Non City Property.

Sunday afternoon, Officers initiated a traffic stop on a gray Toyota SUV with expired temporary tags. The stop took place in the area of East Broadway Boulevard and South Porter Avenue. After further investigation, the passenger in the vehicle was found to be in possession of marijuana and an open container of alcohol. Jeffrey Aaron Griffin, 52, of Kansas City, was issued a Uniform Traffic Ticket for Possession of Marijuana.

Early Sunday morning, Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of East Broadway Boulevard in reference to a physical domestic disturbance. A primary physical aggressor could not be determined, so a 12 hour log was completed.

A truck was stopped between East 5th Street and East 6th Street on South Summit Avenue early Sunday morning. The truck had failed to maintain the right half of the roadway. It also failed to signal turning from the roadway into a parking lot. After an investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Ronald Eugene Breshears, 40, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest and taken to the Police Department for processing. Breshears was then taken to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked in on a state charge of Driving While Intoxicated pending release to a sober person.

Saturday evening, a traffic stop was conducted in the 100 block of East Main Street. After a brief investigation, the driver of the vehicle was arrested for Driving While Revoked. Michael Torres Alejo, 22, of Sedalia, was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released on the charge, which is being referred to the Pettis County Prosecutor.

In the early morning hours of January 18th, Officers responded to the 2700 block of South Quincy Avenue for a report of property damage. Upon arrival, the suspect had already fled the scene. A report was completed and charges are being sought.

Saturday night, a truck was stopped in the area of the Cork N Bottle, 3806 East Broadway Boulevard, for going outside of its lane. The truck was under suspicion of being an intoxicated driver. After an investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. David K. Murray, 53, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated. Murray was taken to the Police Department, processed, and the released with a municipal citation.

On the afternoon of January 4th, Sedalia Police responded to the Menard's store, 4400 Wisconsin Avenue, in reference to a possible forgery. On December 3rd, a subject selected approximately $2,818,20 worth of items from the store and attempted to pay with a check. It was discovered that the account number on the check did not exist. The items were left at the store. However, the business wished to pursue charges for the attempt. The suspect has not been identified at this time.

Saturday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the Wal Mart store, 3201 West Broadway Boulevard in reference to a theft. Officers arrived and made contact with Asset Protection, who had the suspect detained in the office. After further investigation, it was determined the suspect had concealed items while inside the store. Julie K. Herbst, 52, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest for Stealing and transported to the Pettis County Jail.

On Saturday morning, Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of West 24th Street to assist Sedalia Fire and the Pettis County Ambulance District with a medical call. When Officers arrived, they spoke with Sedalia Fire. Officers were informed they had asked for an Officer to be on scene while they were doing CPR on a patient. The patient was later declared deceased. Officers then called Dispatch and asked them to contact the Pettis County Coroner and the Rea Funeral Chapel per the request of the patient's wife. When they arrived on the scene, Officers left the residence.

Early Saturday morning, Officers stopped a white car in the area of Tiger Pride Boulevard and South Limit Avenue for failure to maintain its lane several times. The driver was in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. It was seized for destruction. No charges are being requested.

An SUV was stopped in the area of East 5th Street and South Ohio Avenue for license plate lights that were not white or yellow Saturday morning. After an investigation, it was determined that the driver was intoxicated. William Freaderick Fizer Sr., 38, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated. Fizer was then transported to the Sedalia Police Department, processed, and released to a sober person.

Friday night, Officers on patrol observed a vehicle travelling at a rate 51 MPH in a 40 MPH zone. A traffic stop was conducted in the 800 block of East Broadway Boulevard, and the driver was identified. A check through Dispatch showed an active warrant out of Pettis County for his arrest on charges of Domestic Assault in the 3rd Degree. Lidarrin K. Grant, 30, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest and transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked on his warrant with a cash or surety bond of $1500.

Thursday evening, Officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of West 10th Street in reference to a theft. While the homeowner was away, a pink bike was stolen from the garage.

Last Wednesday morning, a car was stopped in the area of West 4th Street and Dal Whi Mo Court because a brake light was out. The driver was driving while suspended. He was placed under arrest. After an investigation, it was determined that the driver was intoxicated by drugs and exhibiting signs of overdose. To ensure the safety of the suspect, he was taken to the hospital. It was then concluded that he had to be admitted for his safety. Charges of Driving While Suspended and Driving While Intoxicated (Drugs) were requested for Leslie Eugene Harrell, 43, of Sedalia.

Friday night, a car was stopped in the area of West 20th Street and South Ohio Avenue for driving without lights on. After an investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Xavier Joshua Zuniga, 27, of Sedalia, was arrested on a state charge of Driving While Intoxicated. Zuniga was taken to the Police Department, then the Pettis County Jail. Zuniga was placed on a 24 hour hold pending state charges of Driving While Intoxicated, Tampering with Evidence, and No Proof of Insurance.

Officers responded to the 1000 block of East 3rd Street Friday afternoon to take a report of a runaway juvenile. The juvenile left the residence to an unknown location. A missing persons report is being filed and the juvenile was entered in to the MULES database. Foul play is not suspected.

Friday morning, Officers responded to the 1300 block of South Ohio Avenue for a motor vehicle crash. A van travelling south on South Ohio Avenue struck Danny L. Collier's vehicle in the southbound lane. The driver of the van left the scene before Officers arrived. The case is under investigation.

Friday afternoon, Sedalia Police responded to the 500 block of South Kentucky Avenue for a found property report. Upon arriving, there were two bicycles that were found abandoned. They were placed into evidence as found property.
